Carnegie Delivers Renewable Energy Analysis for Mauritius

Carnegie Clean Energy has completed a high penetration renewable energy roadmap, wave resource assessment and renewable energy integrated hybrid power station design for the Republic of Mauritius.

The outcomes were presented at a workshop held in Bagatelle, Mauritius, organised by the Mauritius Research Council in collaboration with the Australian High Commission.

The 12 month, $990,000 project has been funded by the Australian Government in partnership with the Mauritian Government and Carnegie Clean Energy.

Neil de Tisi, Carnegie Clean Energy project operations manager said: “Carnegie delivered comprehensive analysis and designs that offer a pathway into how high penetration, reliable and cost effective renewable energy can be achieved in Mauritius. The innovative Rodrigues wave energy integrated hybrid power station design offers replicability for Mauritius and other small island developing states (SIDS). We look forward to working with
the Mauritian Government and key stakeholders to deliver on the recommendations of the project.”.
