China: CIC-Changxing Shipyard Completes Repair Works for MV Hyundai Treasure

On January 23, 2012, the first day of the lunar new year, CIC-Changxing Shipyard successfully completed the repair of MV Hyundai Treasure. The subject vessel, the ownership registered under a Korean company, arrived at our shipyard on January 11.

With main dimensions of 189.89m*32.20m*16.5m, this time the main jobs included 30m2 of hull bottom plate renewal, brake band renewal for the anchor windlass and mooring winches, overhauling of ME air cooler, AE air coolers, boiler mounting valves and other valves in ER, renewal of ER piping, removal and refit of rudder blade and rudder stock, axis calibration, polishing and dye check for propeller, renewal of stern tube seal and re-metaling of stern tube bush, 18000m2 of sand blasting & coating for 5 cargo holds and 11000m2 of sand blasting & coating for the hull.

The shipyard leaders visited the vessel many times to check the progress and under leadership of the engineering department, all divisions coordinated together to make a sound planning and organized the labors even there were difficulties by the unclear weather and manpower shortage during the festival. The safety was always placed at first priority when the shipyard strove for the rapidest repair. Under the care of the shipyard and division leaders, the repair team was united as one and concentrated all their efforts on the repair, managed to reach a successful completion with a good daily output value.
