CIC Changxing Shipyard Overhauls MV Caroline

CIC Changxing Shipyard Overhauls MV Caroline

German bulk carrier MV Caroline completed all repairs successfully and left the shore of China Shipping Industry’s Changxing Shipyard on November 14.

The repair work on the bulker included renewing Teflon plates in twelve cargo holds, coordinated with hull works aimed at plate renewal.

The ship is a tipper as the structure of her inner bottom resembles a pyramid. There is a funnel door at the bottom, and its door can be opened by a hydraulic plunger. The cargo goes into the tape to dock automatically.

Changxing shipyard overcame the difficulties with the installation of 300 different-sized Teflon plates and managed to complete the job in time, despite being a first work of this type for the shipyard.
