CIC Jiangsu Bags Panamax BCs

China Shipping Industry (Jiangsu) Co., Ltd. (CICJS) has signed construction contracts to build four 64,000 DWT bulk carriers for an unnamed owner.

The shipyard is set to begin construction of Panamax vessels in October.

The first ship is scheduled for delivery in January 2015, with the next three to come in the following three months.

China Shipping Industry (Jiangsu) was established with the goal of becoming the leading company in the domestic market and the first-class shipbuilding enterprise in the world. The shipbuilding base started its operations in April, 2007. According to the concept of “excelsior shipbuilding, digital shipbuilding, green shipbuilding”, the company set up a modern shipbuilding technical system including cutting & processing prefabrication lines, section block manufacture, integration of hull construction, outfitting and painting etc.
