Conti Reederei Orders Eight Eco-Bulkers from Jiangsu Shipbuilding33

German ship-owner Conti Reederei has placed an order for up to eight 63,800dwt eco-bulkers  with Nantong based Jiangsu Hantong Ship Heavy Industry, SinoShip news portal reports.

The newbuildings will feature eco-friendly Dolphin 64 design, developed  by Shanghai Merchant Ship Design Institute (Sdari) in collaboration with Wärtsilä and Det Norske Veritas (DNV).

Dolphin 64 is a Supermax vessel with energy-efficient and economic characteristics.

Delivery of the vessels is scheduled to begin in the first half of 2015.
