Croatian Shipbuilder 3. MAJ Launches Two Tankers

Croatian-based shipbuilder 3. MAJ, on October 11th 2012, held the christening ceremony for a newbuild tanker Palanca Luanda (Yard number 716) which was followed with the launching ceremony of tanker Palanca Sydney (Yard number 718). The vessels are being built for the Swedish company WISBY TANKERS.

In total, shipbuilder 3. Maj and the Swedish owner signed contract for the construction of four tankers.

These tankers, designed to carry concrete, oil and chemicals, are 133 meters long and 23 meters wide. The newbuilds features the loading capacity of 15,000 DWT and are propelled by the 3.MAJ-Wartsila 6 RT Flex 35 engine (MAIN ENGINE OUTPUT 4500 kW at 144 min-1). At recent trials the engine easily produced the speed of 13.6 knots.
