Under a contract signed with Končar Group, Hellenic Cables will supply 12 kilometers of 110 kV submarine cables, accessories and related services as part of a project by the Croatian TSO for the replacement of existing outdated cable lines.

The project will secure the energy supply on the islands Krk and Brač.

Cable production will start this year and is expected to be completed by February 2022 at Hellenic Cables’ submarine cable production facility in Corinth, Greece.

“For the first time, we will work together with our new partners from Greece in this key project in Croatia which will have significant impact on stability of Croatian transmission system as well as increasing capacity for installation of new renewable energy sources on Croatian islands Krk and Brač,” said Gordan Planinić, MOB of Končar – Engineering Co. for Plant Installation & Commissioning inc.
