Cruise Passenger Dies whilst Boarding Queen Elizabeth

A passenger died on Wednesday following an accident whilst boarding Queen Elizabeth cruise ship from a tender, British/American owned cruise line Cunard informed.

The cruise ship was in Sihanoukville, a deep-water port city in Cambodia, when the incident occurred.

“Two of our crew members reacted very quickly and jumped in to rescue her. She was then taken to the medical centre but despite our very best efforts she died,” the company said. “Our customer care team is fully involved and will be offering every support including to those passengers who witnessed the incident.” 

The ship is currently under way from Sihanoukville to Singapore within its 117-day world cruise.

MS Queen Elizabeth is a vista-class cruise ship, the second largest ship to be constructed for Cunard. It is capable of carrying up to 2,092 passengers.
