d’Amico Tankers Sells Product Tanker for USD 13 Million

Irish transporter d’Amico Tankers Limited, subsidiary of tanker shipping company d’Amico International Shipping, has sold its 36,032 dwt handysize product tanker M/T Cielo di Salerno to Marshall Island-based SW Cap Ferrat Shipping LLC for USD 13 million.

d’Amico Tankers said it will maintain the commercial employment of the 2002-built vessel, having also signed a 3-year time charter agreement with the buyer.

The vessel, featuring a length of 183m and a width of 27.43m, was built by South Korean shipbuilder STX.

“The sale of the Handysize vessel Cielo di Salerno reaffirms our skills also in the sale and purchase market since it is done in a firming market allowing us to maximize its proceeds.

“In this case we also managed to maintain the commercial control of the vessel for her remaining useful life,” Marco Fiori, Chief Executive Officer of d’Amico International Shipping, said.

d’Amico Tankers owns a fleet which consists of some 50 double-hulled tankers with an average age of about 7.8 years.

Additionally, the company has a total of 12 newbuilding product tanker shipbuilding contracts with Hyundai Mipo Dockyard Co. Ltd.
