DP World’s 5th ‘Taqdeer’ Awards Held at the Palm, UAE

For the 5th consecutive year, DP World, UAE Region has recognised the achievements of its employees at the annual ‘Taqdeer’ Awards ceremony hosted by the premier regional port operator.

The event highlights employees’ efforts to improve work processes, efficiency, reduce costs and protect the environment.

Mohammed Al Muallem, Senior Vice President and Managing Director, DP World UAE Region, said: ”A dynamic and inspiring work environment is one of the key factors driving our success as the region’s largest port operator. In line with our commitment to the local community, we are engaging more skilled Emiratis to join the DP World family in Jebel Ali as well as throughout our global network across six continents.”

This year, 140 employees have been honoured across seven categories: leadership, best innovation project, self – development, outstanding trainee, special talent, outstanding performance and teamwork.

Masoud Al Noori, Director, Human Resources Department, DP World, UAE Region, said: “The ‘Taqdeer’ programme was established as a formal, ongoing system of recognition for those who stand out and as a vehicle of encouragement for others. We are delighted to see a growing number of our staff achieving the Taqdeer Award and congratulate them on their efforts.”

“In January, the company announced that its latest Container Terminal 3 (T3) at Jebel Ali is set to become the world’s largest semi – automated facility when it opens for business this year, with Emirati men and women amongst those joining the crane operator teams. With its highly sophisticated automated cranes, T3 will transform the workplace at the port using remote control technology to migrate work from the quayside to the safety and security of the operations building. The new workplace also provides opportunities for those with special needs, with consoles and equipment in the operations room designed for wheelchair access,” added Al Noori.

Taqdeer, Arabic for appreciation, was launched by DP World, UAE Region back in 2010. The 5th gala ceremony was held at Atlantis, the Palm, UAE.
