Duke of York Visits Malaysian Marine Heavy Engineering

His Royal Highness The Prince Andrew, Duke of York, KG recently visited MMHE . HRH Prince Andrew, the second prince of Queen Elizabeth II, arrived in Malaysia on Sunday for a three-day visit in his capacity as Britain’s special representative for international trade and investment.

His Royal Highness was accompanied by His Excellency Mr. Simon Featherstone, British High Commissioner to Malaysia together with his six members’ delegation. Present to welcome HRH The Duke of York to MMHE were Mr. Dominique de Soras together with Encik Mohd Anuar Taib, Chairman of Shell Malaysia and Encik Ramlan Malek of PETRONAS.

Dressed in a dark suit, His Royal Highness was given a private briefing by Mr. Dominic de Soras on the company’s business overview and capabilities and specific focus was given on the Gumusut Kakap project, Malaysia’s second deepwater project.

The Royal entourage was later taken for a tour around MMHE yard and went into the Gumusut Kakap semi-FPS project for a closer look at the mammoth project. Before leaving MMHE, he graciously unveiled the plaque that commemorates his visit to MMHE. In his short address he wished the company success in all its projects endovour especially on the safe delivery of Gumusut Kakap project
