Eidesvik lands source vessel work with CGG

A company in the Eidesvik Offshore group has entered into an agreement with a CGG subsidiary for a new contract for the source vessel Veritas Viking.

Eidesvik said on Tuesday that the contract was for five months firm with further options and that it would begin at the end of November 2018.

CEO of Eidesvik Offshore, Jan Fredrik Meling, said: “Eidesvik has entered into a partnership with Vestland Management for the source scope of work on this contract, and with these two companies joining forces I am very confident that we will deliver top services to our client.”

According to the company, the contract is made at current market terms.

In related news, French geophysical company CGG recently decided it would transition to an asset-light model by reducing its exposure to the data acquisition business.

In its marine business, CGG plans to adjust to a three-vessel fleet in 2019 and find a strategic partnership to cost-efficiently operate and control the vessels.

In the land business, CGG plans to exit the market after a wind-down period. Finally, CGG plans to market its multi-physics business for sale, and monetize when suitable.
