EMAS completes subsea templates installation on Aasta Hansteen

EMAS AMC has completed transportation and installation of subsea templates for the Aasta Hansteen field development project, offshore Norway.

EMAS won the contract from Statoil for the transport and installation of three subsea templates in March 2013.

Located in the Norwegian Sea, 300 km west of Bodø, Norway, the Statoil operated Aasta Hansteen field development project is the Norwegian Sea’s deepest offshore project, with water depths of more than 1200 meters.

“We are pleased to announce successful completion of EMAS AMC’s work on the Aasta Hansteen field development, which also adds another record to the EMAS AMC track record. No subsea template installation has ever been done on such water depths on the Norwegian Continental Shelf,” says Svein Haug, Regional Head Europe and Africa.

According to the company, its scope of work included transport and installation of two 4-slot templates and one single slot template. All templates were transported from Aker Solutions’ facility in Sandnessjøen, Norway.

EMAS AMC utilised its subsea construction vessel Boa Sub C for transportation and installation work.
