GTT informed through a brief social media update that it has reached the sixth layer of outer concrete wall on two 220,000-cbm land storage tanks being built for Beijing Gas in cooperation with Huanqiu Contracting & Engineering (HQC).

The membrane full containment tanks feature the GST technology developed by the French company.

City gas distributor Beijing Gas, a unit of BEG, is building a 5 million tonnes per year LNG import terminal in the Tianjin south port Industrial Zone.

The LNG receiving terminal will be an emergency peak-shaving reserve project.

GTT is also progressing the construction of an onshore tank at the Hejian LNG peak shaving facility in the Hebei province in Northern China.

The 29,000-cbm membrane tank has completed five layers of the outer concrete wall.

The tank is being built for Huagagng Gas in cooperation with the facility’s EPC contractor CPECCNC, a unit of China Petroleum Engineering and Construction Corp.

The LNG tank is expected to be commissioned during the second half of 2021.
