Hallin Marine Completes Support Works Offshore Dubai

Aberdeen-based Hallin Marine, a Superior Energy Services company, in cooperation with UTEC has successfully provided offshore pipelay and platform installation support to Global Industries at the Al-Jalila Field, offshore Dubai.

With overseas divisions in Australia, Canada, Singapore, Brazil, and the USA, UTEC provides offshore survey services to clients in the oil and gas markets and submarine telecommunications industry. UTEC’s activities include construction support, industrial measurement, positioning, geophysical and geotechnical investigations. For the Al-Jalila project, UTEC subcontracted a Hallin in-house built Workclass C-ROV vehicle and personnel to support pipeline and platform installation onboard Global Industries’ new build DP pipelay vessel Global 1200.

The Hallin C-ROV is a compact remotely-controlled submersible with a 100 HP hydraulic power unit delivering an outstanding 450 kg forward/aft thrust. Designed to work long hours in water and to a working depth of 1,000 metres, the C-ROV is particularly suited for heavy-duty construction support where remote intervention tasks are required. It can be fitted with a range of acoustic sensors to perform high-precision surveys and conduct salvage operations. Built in accordance with the latest international industry standards and certified for Zone II (Class 1 Division 2) hazardous area operations, the C-ROV can be operated on relatively small vessels of opportunity, fixed or floating platforms.
