Hanjin Heavy Nabs LPG Duo

South Korean shipbuilder Hanjin Heavy Industries and Construction (HHIC) has received an order for construction of two Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) carriers.

The contract is worth KRW 114.9 bln  (USD 104.1 million), according to the shipbuilder’s filing to the Korea Stock Exchange.

Hanjin did not disclose the identity of the client behind the order, saying only that the shipowner is from Southeast Asia.

The 38,000-cbm ships are due for delivery by May 31st, 2017.

The duo will be built at Hanjin’s Yeongdo Shipyard. This is the first gig secured by Hanjin this year.
