Hanjin Heavy Reports of Delivery Delays

Two shipping companies delayed deliveries of their ships from South Korean shipbuilder Hanjin Heavy Industries and Construction (HHIC), the shipbuilder said in a filing to Korea Stock Exchange.

An undisclosed Turkish shipping company, most probably Ciner Shipmanagement, has extended the delivery date of its newbuilding bulkers from July to August 2015.

The Capesize ships were ordered in October, 2013 under a deal worth KRW 116.9bn (USD 104.9 million).

An undisclosed client from Liberia has delayed delivery of one containership from May till July 2015.

The contract was also signed in October, 2013 and is worth USD 77.8 million, the filing said.

The Korean builder did not reveal reasons behind delivery delays.
