Order of new fallpipe vessel strengthens DEME’s offshore subsidiary TIDEWAY

SINGAPORE (1 July 2008) – On behalf of Tideway, its subsidiary for offshore oil and gas activities, Dredging, Environmental and Marine Engineering (DEME) group has ordered a new 19,000 tonnes carrying capacity fallpipe vessel. The vessel will be class DP II and fully equipped with a highly sophisticated active heave compensated Remote Operated Vehicle (ROV) and state-of-the-art survey equipment, which enables it to high precision rock placement at no less than 2,000 metres. This specialised vessel will become the third and the biggest fallpipe vessel of Tideway. The overall cost, including the fall pipe installation, for DEME will be 100 million Euro.
