50 warship crew catch latent TB

An outbreak of TB on a Royal Navy helicopter carrier has left 50 crew members with a latent form of the disease and three confirmed cases.
The entire ship’s company was tested after two crew members on the Devonport-based HMS Ocean were diagnosed with TB last month.

The third case was confirmed by the navy along with results of tests.

The Royal Navy said an investigation was under way, and it was working with the Health Protection Agency.
