Burger Boat Company purchases ANGUS, a rare 1939 Burger Cruiser

Burger Boat Company is pleased to announce the acquisition of ANGUS, a rare 48-foot steel-hulled Burger Cruiser built in 1939. Arriving in Manitowoc on Tuesday November 11, the 69 year old Burger made a brief stop at the Wisconsin Maritime Museum for local interested parties to see before continuing to the Burger shipyard. ANGUS will be restored to promote Burger Boat Company, its employees, and to celebrate the Burger product and its heritage. She will also be made available to the Wisconsin Maritime Museum for fund raising purposes.

It is extremely rare to find such a well maintained vessel of this vintage. She has never seen salt water and has had three previous owners who have all kept her properly maintained, including her 70 HP Kahlenberg engine manufactured in Two Rivers, WI. Burger is proud to have acquired ANGUS and return her to the shipyard where she was originally built.

Burger, a long-time supporter of the Wisconsin Maritime Museum, is dedicated to preserving the area’s maritime heritage and is the sponsor of the museum’s Children’s Waterways Room, an interactive area that allows museum guests of all ages to experience boating.
