Hudong Zhonghua names Papua LNG carrier

A naming ceremony for Hudong Zhonghua Shipbuilding’s first LNG carrier built for export was held in Shanghai.

The 172,000 cbm LNG carrier named Papua was jointly invested in by MOL, China Shipping Group and Sinopec, stands in the Hudong Zhonghua’s statement.

The vessel will be chartered to ExxonMobil for transport of liquefied natural gas from its PNG LNG facility.

Hudong Zhonghua’s orderbook counts 13 LNG carriers and three more are under construction for MOL and scheduled to be delivered in 2015 and 2016.
