Jee to Participate at Subsea Integrity Conference

Jee Limited’s technical director Mike Hawkins will deliver a technical case study on ‘The challenges of concealed corrosion on a critical gas riser’, at the Subsea Integrity Conference (SSIC) North Sea.  Jee, will also host an innovative post-conference training workshop.

Following two successful years in the Gulf of Mexico region, the Decomworld conference will be held in Aberdeen for the first time on 2-3 December 2014. The event will focus on educating attendees on the importance of building a robust subsea integrity management strategy to eradicate failure and extend the life of ageing fields.

Drawing from more than 30 years’ industry experience, Jee’s technical director, Mike Hawkins will be presenting a review of a Premier Oil case study for effective integrity management of offshore risers.

“Identifying and quantifying corrosion concealed by riser guides or insulation is a major headache for operators of offshore facilities.  I will be using a case study of corrosion beneath the dead weight support of an offshore riser linked into a major subsea gas gathering system to illustrate the challenges that can be faced during the process, and how to overcome them,” Mr Hawkins said.

Gathering leading figures from across the subsea industry, this conference is an ideal platform to showcase Jee’s 26 years’ of technical expertise and impart our knowledge on best practice to quantify and assess concealed corrosion.

Jee will also be hosting a taster training workshop immediately after the conference on 4 December.  The half day training session, open to Diamond pass SSIC tickets holders, will allow delegates to gain an introduction to pipeline integrity, learn how to develop a Pipeline Integrity Management System (PIMS) and identify issues and assess a range of integrity threats to ensure safety, efficiency and reliability of subsea assets.

Jenny Matthew, Head of Courses at Jee, said: “Our presence at the conference not only allows us to demonstrate our strong engineering capabilities, but also gives attendees a taste of Jee’s world-renowned courses.

“The post conference training, being held by Jee Courses Specialist and Principal Engineer, Alan Smith, is a great incentive for SSIC 2014 tickets holders to upgrade to a Diamond pass. The Diamond pass ticket can be transferred onto a company colleague for the Jee training course, so we can reach those who may benefit most from our workshop.

“The half day event offers attendees continuous professional development points, exposure to the quality of training that Jee delivers on every course, and a great networking opportunity over lunch.”
