Jiangnan Changxing Builds China's Largest Containerships

Jiangnan Changxing Heavy Industry and CSSC Shipping (Hong Kong) have entered into a new contract, this time for the construction of three container vessels.

Under the contract, the shipyard will build three 16,000 teu containerships, the largest that China has ever built, reports SinoShip.

These ships, jointly designed by Waigaoqiao Shipbuilding and CSSC-affilated Marine Design & Research Institute of China (MARIC), are scheduled for delivery in September 2015.

Jiangnan Changxing Heavy Industry will build two vessels and one will be built at Waigaoqiao Shipbuilding.
