Jurong Shipyard Updates on the Status of Injured Workers

Sembcorp Marine has provided updates on the status of  Jurong Shipyard’s injured workers who are currently hospitalised.

One worker warded in West Point Hospital with shin injury with hairline fracture was discharged this morning.

For the two remaining workers who are still warded at NUH hospital, the status are as follows:

  • Kola Kani (Indian national) – both ankles still swollen. Doctor has informed that there is a need to perform minor surgery to align the fractured bone. The surgery is tentatively scheduled for next Wednesday and can be earlier if the swelling subsides. Meanwhile, the patient is undergoing phsio-theraphy and treatment to reduce the swelling and to aid in faster recovery later.
  • Md Tuheri (Bangladeshi national) – right ankle still swollen. Treatment similar.

The company’s in-house doctor is monitoring and co-ordinating with the doctor at NUH on the progress of these 2 patients.
