KazMunaiGas EP CEO leaves for another job

The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Kazakhstan’s KazMunaiGas Exploration Production Abat Nurseitov has resigned as the company’s CEO (Chairman of the Management Board) and a member of the Board of Directors due to his transfer to another job.

The subsidiary of National Company KazMunayGas JSC said that the decision on the appointment of a new CEO would be made by the KMG EP Board of Directors in the near future.

Christopher Hopkinson, Chairman of the KMG EP Board of Directors thanked Abat Nurseitov for his valuable contribution during the stabilisation period of the company.

The duties of the CEO of the company were taken over by the Chief Financial Officer Dastan Abdulgafarov starting from September 8, 2015, until the election of a new CEO in due course.

Abat Nurseitov joined the Company in 2006 and worked as Deputy General Director for Production since January 2012. Prior to this, he worked as Managing Director for Production. He has been working in the oil and gas industry since 1986, starting his career as an oil well operator and progressing to the Head of Zhetybaineft. He has held various managerial posts at NIPIneftegaz, Turgai-Petroleum CJSC, and the Kazakh branch of LukOil Overseas Service.
