KCA Deutag unit picks up offshore platform design deal

RDS, KCA Deutag’s global provider of engineering and design solutions, has won a new contract for the detailed design of a drilling facility for an offshore platform.

RDS said that the contract had a duration of twelve months with future follow on support executed from the company’s central London offices.

According to the company, this is a first detail design award for a new greenfield platform since the oil price decline in 2014.

Albert Allan, RDS senior vice president, said: “RDS is delighted to have won this new contract. It is great to see confidence about the outlook returning to the industry, which is starting to give operators the confidence to sanction large projects once more.
