Based on a social media post, the Norwegian player has added the Atlantic Kestrel to its operated fleet, which will now be known as Ben Viking. The firm’s fleet now counts 12 AHTS vessels.

The vessel is owned by Viking Supply Ships, which inked a deal to purchase Atlantic Kestrel from Atlantic Towing in May. Sea1 will be in charge of its crewing and operation.

The 2012-built unit is an Ice Class 1A vessel of VS 4622 CD design. Boasting a 230-meter bollard pull, it was constructed in Singapore.

“With this addition, we further strengthen our capability to deliver complete marine spreads for advanced offshore operations, supporting our clients with reliability, expertise, and a growing fleet,” noted Sea 1 Offshore.

In addition to this purchase, Sea1 made a vessel sale recently as part of its fleet renewal efforts. Following initial announcements in April, the acquisition of construction support vessel (CSV) Spearfish by Boskalis was completed a few days ago.
