Maersk Resumes Ops at Almost All Ports

Danish shipping company Maersk Line informed that almost all ports are operational and running close to normal in the aftermath of a cyber attack which hit the company’s businesses on June 27.

Since June 29, the shipping line managed to reestablish business in Algeciras, Tangier, Callao Lima, Mumbai, Itajai and Buenos Aires.

Maersk Line is still working on expanding its services at Pier 400 in Los Angeles, Port Elizabeth in New Jersey and Maasvlakte II in Rotterdam.

In Los Angeles and New Jersey the company is able to deliver imports and receive and deliver empties, while it is trying to open up to receive exports.

At Maasvlakte II the company is working on a solution to reestablish business operations. Hence, it is diverting services to other terminals in and around Rotterdam. These facilities have already restored systems and are able to gate cargo in and out.

Additionally, the company said that it is now accepting bookings both via INTTRA online forms and through EDI, while its vessels remain fully operational and cargo in transit “is being handled close to normal.”

“We are seeing great progress in the restoration of our infrastructure,” Maersk Line said.
