Malaita Premier Supports SOCC's Submarine Cable Project

Malaita Premier Edwin Suibaea expressed his support for the submarine cable project which the Solomons Oceanic Cable Company (SOCC) plans to implement in July this year.

The submarine cable which will run between Sydney and Guam will link Solomon Islands to the rest of the world, Solomon Star reports.

Mr Suibaea said: “My people will have access to information to participate in economic activities and education as well.”

The Submarine Cable System project is expected to cost around $420 million (USD$60 million).
