BPS Inks Shipbuilding Contract for Two Harbour Tugs

Boustead Penang Shipyard Sdn Bh (BPS), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Boustead Heavy Industries Group, and Boustead Naval Shipyard Sdn Bhd have entered into Shipbuilding Contract for the design, construction, commissioning, testing, supply and delivery of two (2) units of 16m General Purpose Harbour Tug. The contract between the companies was signed on August 16th 2012.

The Vessels will be approximately 16 meters in length with 20 tonnes Bollard Pull and designed for operation in restricted/confined waters for harbour support activities, including for towing, mooring and support Sea Trial testing. They need to have good maneuverability.

Boustead Heavy Industries Corporation Berhad is a shipbuilding, ship repair, maritime, engineering and defence-related services provider listed on the Main Board of Bursa Malaysia Securities. BHIC operates 3 shipyards in Malaysia: Lumut, Jerejak and Langkawi yard.
