Middle Point to provide personnel for Bull Hanine

Middle Point, the recruitment & contracting company for the maritime and offshore industry, has secured a deal to supply contract personnel to Qatar Petroleum for the Bul Hanine offshore redevelopment project.

Located 120 km from Qatar’s east coast, the $11 billion Bul Hanine redevelopment project is designed to double production rates.

The overall project includes the drilling of additional 150 wells, the replacement and upgrade of existing offshore production facilities, the installation of 6 new platforms, and the development of a new onshore natural gas to liquids processing plant. This project will start early 2016 and will take up to 7 years to engineer, construct, install and commission.

Middle Point said it would source candidates across a range of disciplines, including project engineering & management, discipline engineering, planning, construction and HSEQ, with a peak of personnel required in 2017 when detailed design and construction commences.

Maarten van Haren, Partner Consultant at Middle Point, said: “Even in the current industry climate, it will be challenging to source the right calibre candidate. Qatar Petroleum is only looking for the best and not willing to compromise on their requirements in terms of experience, education and involvement in similar (multi-billion dollar) projects.”
