MSC Adds Piraeus to Its Australia-Mediterranean Service

Switzerland-based Mediterranean Shipping Company (MSC), world’s second largest seaborne containerised cargo carrier, has added a direct Piraeus call to its new Australia-Mediterranean service, starting March 23 from Sydney.

The Australia Express will be the only service providing a direct call into Greece currently available from the Australian market, MSC said.

The service will employ twelve 4,800 TEU boxships on the following rotation: Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide, Fremantle, Singapore, Chennai, Colombo, King Abdullah Port (Saudi Arabia), Piraeus, Gioia Tauro, Valencia, Fos, La Spezia, Naples, Gioia Tauro, Suez, Pointe des Galets, Port Louis, Sydney.

The Australia Express service will connect to three other services, along with a direct call into Saudi Arabia, Chennai and Colombo.
