MSC Poesia’s Makes Maiden Call in Buenos Aires

On 24 November 2013, on the occasion of MSC Poesia’s maiden call in the Port of Buenos Aires, Argentina, a great party was organised for some 1,500 guests among whom were local officials, MSC Cruises Executive Director for Brazil and Argentina, Roberto Fusaro and supermodel Valeria Mazza, special “godmother” for the upcoming 2013-14 Argentinean sailings.

During the welcoming ceremony, which included musical performances by Bajofondo, La Bersuit Vergarabat and Guillermo Guido, a fund raising effort was held in favour of the children of the Casa Garrahan programme in Buenos Aires. This programme offers a roof to out-of-town children and their mothers while they undergo hospital treatments. The generosity of the guests allowed for AR$50,000 to be raised which will directly contribute to the construction of more houses.

Without realising it, with a little effort we can be part of something much bigger than us: the future of a child, their happiness and that of their family” said Roberto Fusaro. “Family values lie firmly at the heart of the MSC Cruises experience. This is why we look after children so well during our cruises, with their entertainment, care and security always in mind, continuously aiming for their well-being.

MSC Poesia will make 21 regular journeys from November 2013 until April 2014, offering a vast array of itineraries (3, 7, 8 and 9 nights long), with calls in Ilha Grande, Ilhabela, Buzios, Copacabana, Cabo Frío, Rio de Janeiro in Brazil and Punta del Este in Uruguay.
