Nevsky Shipyard Delivers Spasatel Zaborshchikov Multipurpose Salvage Vessel

Russia’s State Marine Rescue Service has taken delivery of a multipurpose salvage vessel on June 20, 2014.
The vessel of project MPSV07 Spasatel Zaborshchikov was built by Nevsky Shipyard and has a length of 73.0 meters and a beam of 15.5 meters.
The MPSV07 series vessels are capable of conducting multiple missions such as salvage of stricken ships, rescue and evacuation of people, refloating of stranded ships, pumping of water from flooded compartments etc.
As Port News reports, they are capable of operating as Diving Support Vessels, assisting underwater diving works at depths 60 meters, as well as conducting deep diving operations at depths of up to 300 m, responding to emergency oil spills and fire, inspection and cleaning of underwater hulls of ships etc.
