New director elected to head Semco Maritime’s Norwegian unit

Project engineering company Semco Maritime has appointed a new managing director of its Norwegian entity.

The company said on Thursday that Lars Jønholt Halvorsen was named as the managing director of Semco Maritime Norway as per August 1.

Based in Bergen, Halvorsen now heads all Semco Maritime activities in Norway, including the rig facilities at Hanøytangen as well as Semco Maritime’s offices in Kristiansand and Stavanger.

He joins Semco Maritime from a position of deputy general manager and senior project manager at Enhanced Drilling, and before that he held a position as vice president at Odfjell Drilling.

Lars Skov, head of Semco Maritime rig projects, said: “Lars has in-depth knowledge of the rig industry in particular as well as the Norwegian oil and gas industry in general. Furthermore, he is known as a leader with a strong focus on lean operations, ensuring high quality and efficient deliveries for our customers.”
