Nigeria LNG Orders Four LNG Tankers from SHI

Nigeria LNG has reportedly placed an order with Samsung Heavy Industries of South Korea for four LNG tankers.

Samsung Heavy said the deal was conditional on Nigeria LNG securing finance for the order, Reuters informs.

Another South Korean shipbuilder, Hyundai Heavy, is also  in talks with NLNG to build two additional LNG tankers.

BNP Paribas and GT Bank of Nigeria are brokering a $1.6 billion loan to help fund the LNG tanker order and the loan documents could be signed next week, according to Reuters.
