Becker Marine Systems to Showcase Energy-Saving Solutions

Becker Marine Systems places a clear focus on environmental protection. That’s why Becker’s emphasis in its product presentation at the exhibition in Norway will once again be on energy-saving solutions for the shipping industry.

Such as the tried and tested Becker Mewis Duct®, which was introduced on the market four years ago and has since become a bestseller with approx. 400 orders. To this day installed Becker Mewis Duct® have reduced CO2 emissions by more than 250,000 t. This is comparable to the CO2 emissions of over 400 Jumbo jets flying from London to New York.

As a further development of the Becker Mewis Duct® developed for tankers and bulkers, Becker Marine Systems will be presenting the Becker Twisted Fin® developed for fast types of ships such as container ships. Since the beginning of the year seven 7,100 TEU container ships owned by Hamburg Süd have been retrofitted with the Becker Twisted Fin®, which has enabled the vessels to reduce fuel consumption by an average of 3%.
