Norwegian subsea company makes ‘giant leap’ into Asian market with new contract

Norwegian supplier of subsea products and services IK Group has secured a contract to deliver clamps to an oil & gas pipeline emergency repair base in China, said to mark a giant leap for the company into the Asian market.

IK Subsea and its in-country partner PAG Subsea Technology (Guangzhou) have sealed a contract with COOEC Subsea Technology in China.

IK Subsea will throughout this year design and deliver a series of DNV Type approved – high-pressure pipeline diverless repair clamps, both structural and sealing, for COOEC’s National oil & gas pipeline emergency repair base in Shenzhen.

The project is said to be pivotal, ensuring rapid and efficient pipeline repair operations in the South China Sea and East China Sea.

PAG Subsea Technology will be responsible for the project management activities in China.
