Oil Spill Reported Offshore Brazil. ANP Finds Nothing

IBAMA, the Brazilian Ministry of the Environment’s enforcement agency was on Wednesday informed of a possible oil spill at one of the Petrobras’ Floating Production Storage Offloading units offshore Brazil.

The Brazilian National Agency of Petroleum, Natural Gas (ANP) and Brazilian Navy yesterday conducted a joint overflight of the spot to investigate the complaint about the existence of a kilometer long oil slick in the Jubarte Field, next to the FPSO P-57.

During the overflight of the location in the northern part of the Campos basin, no oil slick could be visible from the air, said ANP on its website. The ANP said it would continue to monitor the situation.
