Picture of the Day LNG Module Arrives at Curtis Island

The module program has been in full swing for the Curtis Island LNG projects for more than 20 months with well over half the modules now in their permanent positions across the sites, Bechtel said on Wednesday.

One of the largest modules across the three projects arrived this week, weighing in at almost 3,500 tonnes. This latest module made an impressive site as it moved through Gladstone Harbour yesterday.

In total 260 modules will be delivered to the three projects and rolled into position using SPMTs (Self-Propelled Modular Transporters).

The huge steel frames come in many different shapes and sizes and encase equipment that is used for many different purposes once they are tied into their permanent operational positions.
