Polarcus Recomends New Director

Polarcus nomination committee has proposed an appointment of Nicholas Smith as a new director following a resignation of Chris Kelsall as a member of the board of directors.

Smith is a chartered accountant with a long-term career in investment banking and as CFO of Asian investment bank Jardine Fleming Group.

He has held a position of chairman of Ophir Energy, and as board member for several other AIM listed companies. He is currently chairman of Aberdeen New Thai Investment Trust; chairman of Schroder Asia Pacific Investment Fund, where he was previously chair of audit and senior independent director; and a board member for JPMorgan European Small Companies Investment Trust where he is also chair of audit.

“The committee considers that Nicholas Smith has the necessary skills, experience and qualifications to adequately perform the duties of a director and supports the appointment of Smith for a period starting from the date of the EGM and ending with the 2017 annual general meeting, at which time Smith will be proposed for re-election,” the company said.

The current committee consists of Kitty Hall (chair), Karen El-Tawil and Kristian Falnes.
