Qatar Petroleum Opts for Middle Point

Middle Point, Dutch recruitment & contracting specialist for the maritime and offshore industry, has secured a deal to supply contract personnel to Qatar Petroleum for the Bul Hanine offshore redevelopment project.

Located 120 km from Qatar’s east coast, the USD 11 billion Bul Hanine redevelopment project is designed to double production rates.

The overall project includes the drilling of an additional 150 wells, the replacement and upgrade of existing offshore production facilities, the installation of 6 new platforms, and the development of a new onshore natural gas to liquids processing plant.

The project is slated for commencement early 2016 and will take up to 7 years to engineer, construct, install and commission.

Under the contract, Middle Point will source experienced candidates across a range of disciplines, including project engineering & management, discipline engineering, planning, construction and hseq, with a peak of personnel required in 2017 when detailed design and construction commences.

Selected candidates can expect a contract for a minimum of 36 months, with a tax free salary, living allowance and 6 weeks annual leave.

“The combination of our proven track record in the challenging North Sea Offshore energy industry, and Qatar Petroleum’s need to establish a multinational workforce, made us their natural partner in mainland Europe,” said Maarten van Haren, Partner Consultant at Middle Point.
