Qatar’s RasGas delivered the 500th cargo of liquefied natural gas to Edison at the Adriatic LNG terminal located in the northern Adriatic Sea, about 15 kilometers off the Veneto coastline in Italy.

The cargo was delivered aboard the 148,786-cbm Al Areesh LNG carrier on July 1, Edison, EDF’s Italian unit said in its statement on Thursday.

It was delivered under a long-term sales and purchase agreement signed in 2003, under which RasGas supplies 4.6 mtpa of LNG to Edison.

Edison said last month it is in talks to sell its 7.3 percent stake in the Adriatic LNG terminal that delivers more than 44 billion of cubic meters of gas to the national pipeline network, over a half of the domestic consumption in 2016. It has a regasification capacity of 8 billion cubic meters per year.

The facility imports LNG primarily from Qatar but also from Trinidad and Tobago, Equatorial Guinea, and Norway.
