Nevsky Shipyard Starts Mooring Trials of Neva-Leader 3

Nevsky Shipyard, LLC started mooring trials of the third in the series of 10 dry-cargo «river-sea» type vessels of 7.150 dwt RSD49 project (Yard № 403). The Shipyard is building the vessels for North-Western Shipping Company, JSC.

Vessels under RSD49 project, designed by Marine Engineering Bureau(MEB), are meant for the transportation of general, bulk, timber, grain and out-of-gauge cargoes in the Caspian Sea, Mediterranean Sea, Black, Baltic, White, Northern Seas, including voyages round Europe and to the Irish Sea in winter.

The feature of the vessel of project RSD49 is the existence of a big middle hold that is fifty two meters long, which makes it possible to transport “design” oversize and heavy-lift cargoes in one way voyage Europe-Caspian Sea.
