 ' Spasatel Karev' Completes Ice Trials Program

On March 19th, 2013 a newly-built multipurpose salvage vessel “SPASATEL KAREV” (builder – Nevsky Shipyard) successfully completed necessary tests of Ice Trials Program.

The Trials were carried out in accordance with the program for entering the fleet of FSUE “Baltic Basin Emergency and Rescue Administration” (Baltic BASU).

The Trials were carried out in the Gulf of Finland at the air temperature -70-100 С, ice depth 35-45 cm, passing junctions of two ice fields up to 50 cm. Among the participants of the Trials were the staff of FSUE “Baltic Basin Emergency and Rescue Administration”, a representative of Nevsky Shipyard, a member of the Laboratory of Icebreaking Technology and Ice Performance of Ships of JSC CNIIMF and other responsible persons.

According to the results of the Trials, the characteristics of vessel ice performance completely correspond to RS Ice-class Arc5.
