    GC Rieber Shipping, Norway, has cancelled a newbuild order with Indonesian yard PT Batamec Shipyard following delays in the delivery. The vessel was ordered by Polar Marine I, a joint venture between GC Rieber and Otto Marine in which the former had a 51 percent share.

    The subsea service specialist Dof Subsea cancels one of three ROV vessels (Remote Operated Vehicle) under construction at Tebma Shipyard, India. The vessel’s price tag is USD 45–50 million. ”The vessel was scheduled for delivery in March 2010, but is delayed and will by no chance be delivered in time.”

    On July 6th 2007, Transas signed a contract with the Krasnoe Sormovo shipyard (MNP Group) to supply navigational equipment for the RST22 tanker series. Turkish shipping company Palmali Shipping is the project’s customer. Several Palmali Shipping vessels have already been equipped with Transas systems.

    General Dynamics NASSCO, a wholly owned subsidiary of General Dynamics (NYSE: GD), today delivered USNS Richard E. Byrd (T-AKE 4) to the U.S. Navy. The ship is the third T-AKE-class ship delivered by the San Diego shipyard in 2007, the fourth overall.

    The keel of the first of two ro-ro vessels ordered by the Finnish shipping company Bore from Flensburger Schiffbau-Gesellschaft in Germany was laid on November 8, 2011. The owner is most pleased with the performance of the shipyard and delivery for newbuilding 744 is scheduled to April 29, 2011.

    The Disney Cruise Line signed a contract Monday with a German shipyard to build two new ships during ceremonies at its Celebration headquarters. Plans to build the ships were announced in February. The two unnamed 124,000-ton ships are scheduled to launch in 2011 and 2012.
