Semco Maritime wins its ‘largest contract in history’ with Maersk Oil

Danish oil company Maersk Oil has awarded a contract for manpower for the operations in the North Sea to Semco Maritime, a project engineering and contracting company.

Semco Maritime informed on Thursday that the contract with Maersk Oil, which has a duration of five years, includes both blue collared and white collared employees.

The agreement means that Semco Maritime will increase the number of offshore employees in the coming years, the company noted.

Steen Brødbæk, CEO Semco Maritime, said: “We are pleased with the confidence that Maersk Oil and Gas shows Semco Maritime by the award of this major contract and we are looking forward to continuing the cooperation. We consider it an acknowledgement of our competent employees and our high safety focus.”

Semco Maritime did not state the value of the contract, which is the largest in the company’s history.

Semco also recently entered into a strategic agreement with the rig service company Skipavika about a service preparedness for rigs located at the port facility Skipavika Terminal near Bergen, Norway.
