SENER Ingeniería y Sistemas in China to Launch Operation by Year-End

SENER Ingeniería y Sistemas in China to Launch Operation by Year-End 1

In line with SENER’s Strategic Plan for 2011-2013, and in particular regarding the Maritime Strategic Business Unit’s Special Plan for Korea, Japan, and China, the subsidiary of SENER Ingeniería y Sistemas in China is being incorporated into the company and will be registered and operational before the end of the year.

This subsidiary, headquartered in Shanghai, will be focused in the development of SENER’s marine business in China, in both systems and engineering. There are currently eight FORAN licensees in China, including three technical universities (in Wuhan, Zhenjiang, and Harbin), four public and private engineering companies (in Wuhan, Guangzhou, and Shanghai), and a privately owned shipyard (in Guangzhou).

Meanwhile, various tests and evaluations are being conducted in the main Chinese maritime construction groups, the China Shipbuilding Industry Corporation (CSIC) and the China State Shipbuilding Corporation (CSSC), which include the Asian giant’s major shipyards and technical offices.

SENER expects spectacular growth in the demand for CAD licenses and services, progressing hand in hand with the growth of China’s maritime industry, which is already number one in the world, ahead of Japan and Korea.
