Sevan Drilling director resigns to take the helm in TGS

A director at Sevan Drilling, an international deepwater drilling contractor, has decided to resign in order to take the Chief Executive Officer role at TGS-NOPEC Geophysical Company.

Kristian Johansen was recently appointed as CEO of the geophysical company succeeding Robert Hobbs who retired after eight years with TGS, including nearly seven years as CEO.

“The Board of Sevan Drilling expresses their appreciation to Mr. Johansen for his contributions since joining the Board in 2012 and would like to congratulate him on his new position,” Sevan Drilling said on Monday.

Johansen joined TGS in 2010 as Chief Financial Officer and was appointed Chief Operating Officer in February of 2015.

Prior to joining TGS, Johansen was the Executive Vice President and CFO of EDB Business Partner (now Evry) in Oslo.
