Solstad Farstad anchor handler bags more Statoil work

Norway’s newly-formed OSV provider, Solstad Farstad, has been awarded several new contracts for its vessels. 

According to Solstad Farstad’s Oslo Stock Exchange filing on Thursday, the Norwegian oil company Statoil has declared its option to extend the anchor handling tug and supply vessel Normand Ferking with one year from September 2017.

The vessel provider noted that this was the second out of a total of three yearly options for the 2007-built anchor handler.

The vessel has been working for Statoil since its delivery. The latest firm, three-year contract was awarded in 2013. It included three yearly options with the first option exercised last July.

The Normand Ferking is an AHTS vessel of the VS 490 design. The vessel has LOA of 89.35m, breadth mld of 22 m, and it is able to accommodate 32 persons.

CSV duo

In addition, Solstad Farstad has entered into a contract with Prysmian Powerlink Srl for the hire of the construction support vessel (CSV) Normand Flower for a period of four months firm with possible options. The contract will start on July 15, 2017.

Further, Solstad Farstad has entered into a contract with Tideway B.V. for hire of the CSV Normand Jarstein for a period of three months firm with further four months option. The contract for this vessel will begin in September 2017.

The company did not reveal the commercial terms for any of the contracts.
